Garage doors: sectional vs. roller

Which type of garage door suits you, based on space, insulation and budget.

The two most requested garage solutions are sectional doors and roller doors. The difference comes down to space, insulation and opening.

Sectional doors

They rise vertically and sit under the ceiling, parallel to the floor. They offer very good thermal insulation (sandwich panels with polyurethane foam), increased safety and allow parking right in front of the garage. Recommended for most residential garages.

Roller doors

They roll into a box at the top, taking minimal side and ceiling space. Ideal for garages with small openings (up to 3–4 m) or low ceilings / vaults.
